A… My Name is Alice presents a kaleidoscope of contemporary women in hilarious, insightful, empathetic and at times profound experiences. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you might even learn a little something more about the women in your life. The New York Times called it “Delightful and so sophisticated…the [creators] would rather tickle a male chauvinist pig to death than hack him to pieces.”
Andover resident Kathleen Dalton is cast in this ensemble musical featuring eight women and one token male. Kathy has worked with The Wellesley Players in the past, first she served on the backstage crew for Steel Magnolias when it was presented at the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theaters (EMACT) Festival. Then she came to rescue during tech week to serve as a dresser for the lead character, Jo, in the musical version of Little Women. Kathy comes to A… My Name is Alice having performed in the musical 11 years ago. “It was one of my favorite theatrical experiences.”

About A… My Name is Alice Kathy says “I love working on smaller shows and getting to play many different characters. ‘All Girl Band’ is my favorite song because it celebrates the unique female voices coming together to create something wonderful. The show has a great balance of funny, clever, thoughtful and poignant.” Kathy teaches Music Together, a developmentally-based early childhood music program. She says she is lucky enough to be able to encourage parents and children to love singing and making music.
Joan Micklin Silver and Julianne Boyd conceived A… My Name is Alice as a sequence of clever and serious songs, monologues and sketches depicting the trials and tribulations of living as a woman. This bright and lively revue was created by a wide variety of comedy writers including actress Anne Meara as well as lyricists and composers such as David Zippel and Lucy Simon.
