State Police Arrest Man In Haverhill Manhunt
Elias Sudler was found in a wooded area and taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

HAVERHILL, MA -- Massachusetts State Police arrested Elias J. Sudler, 27, of Boston around 2 pm Wednesday afternoon after a manhunt involving a helicoipter, "numerous" dogs and which took several hours. Sudler was wanted on multiple charges and fled on foot during a traffic stop in Haverhill Wednesday morning.
State Police flushed Sudler out of a wooded area near Carelton Street in Haverhill. He was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries. He is facing additional charges, which are expected to be filed on Wednesday afternoon.
Sudler was wanted on multiple charges stemming from several offenses, including assault on a police officer, assault with a deadly weapon, carjacking and rape. He has an extensive criminal history. State Police warned that Sudler was dangerous and he may have been armed as they searched for him.

Sudler was indicted in Suffolk County on July 10 charging him with stalking and sexually assaulting a former romantic partner in Boston earlier this year. He has been the target of an arrest warrant since then
Police tried to stop a vehicle on Wednesday for an inspection sticker violation. Sudler, a passenger of the vehicle, fled on foot when the 1996 Chevrolet S Truck pickup stopped at a CVS on Route 97 in Haverhill. The driver, a 35-year-old Quincy man whose name was not released, was arrested.

Police say Sudler tried to grab a backpack from the back of the truck before fleeing. Police recovered the backpack and found a firearm in it.
