Thousands Vote Early In Andover State Primary Election

Around 5,000 ballots have been cast early and by mail, as of Friday morning, according to the town clerk's office.

ANDOVER, MA — About 5,000 ballots had already been cast in the state primary in Andover as of Friday morning, town clerk Austin Simko said.

All voters were eligible to vote by mail in the 2020 state primary, and in-person early voting lasted seven days, ending Friday at 4:30 p.m.

With 5,000 ballots received, Andover's voter turnout had already surpassed most recent state primaries. In 2018, over 7,000 votes were cast in town, but fewer than 2,000 voted in 2016.
