Three Charged in Multi-Store Theft

The following information was supplied by the Andover Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Three people were arrested Thursday in connection with stealing.

Police were called to on Barnard Thursday about a shoplifter. They followed Jennifer Santos, 26, of 46 Columbus Ave. Apt. 1, Lawrence, as she walked in the parking lot with a bag.

Police say Santos told them she didn't do anything and then ran off, dropping the bag. She reportedly ran to Park Street and attempted to climb into a blue Nissan. The Nissan drove away without her, and Santos was apprehended on Whittier Court.

Santos was arrested for three counts of shoplifting, resisting arrest and warrants relating to drug charges.

The two women in the blue Nissan were also arrested. Janet Cordero, 52, 27 Baldwin St., Lawrence, and Jazmany Caraballo, 30, of 51 Nesmith St., Lawrence, were each charged with three counts of receiving stolen property and accessory after the fact.

Wednesday, Aug. 22

At 9:12 a.m., there was an altercation reported at Elm Street Auto. Police determined it to be a misunderstanding.

At 12:18 p.m., a caller at Auto-US Mgt. reported receiving a bomb threat. Police searched for explosives but found nothing.

At 2:14 p.m., someone walked into the station and reported that he had been in an altercation at the train station.

At 7:13 p.m., a caller on Brookside Drive reported that she heard gunshots. Police found nothing.

At 9:03 p.m., a caller on Wild Rose Drive reported hearing gun shots as well. It turned out to be youths setting off bottle rockets, and police spoke with their parents.
