Dear APS families and staff,

As we prepare for a much needed long weekend, I wanted to take the opportunity to remind the community of the Massachusetts Travel Order signed by Governor Baker in August. This order remains in effect and I encourage anyone planning to travel outside of Massachusetts in the next few days to plan ahead and review this order on the state’s website before travelling. These travel orders protect us all and help keep transmission levels as low as possible.

The state has defined “low risk states,” where Massachusetts residents are permitted to travel without needing to quarantine upon return. These include Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut and the District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), However, locations and requirements are subject to change, therefore, I advise you to monitor the site closely for updates. Should you and your family travel outside of one of these areas this weekend, you are required by the state to complete this travel form and prepare to quarantine for 14 days or be able to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test result no more than 72 hours following your reentry into Massachusetts. Locations for approved testing sites can be found here.

In the first few weeks of school your children have done a great job of following health and safety precautions that help keep everyone in the community safe. We appreciate your diligence in maintaining these efforts and wish you a restful long weekend.
