Two Facing Drug Charges After Andover Arrest

State Police recovered 115 marijuana plants and three pounds of suspected marijuana during a traffic stop Thursday.

ANDOVER, MA -- A Devens woman and a man from Harvard are facing multiple charges following a traffic stop by Massachusetts State Police near exit 41 on Interstate 495 South in Andover around 11:40 pm Thursday. Brianna Jean Pomerants, 19, of Devens, and her passenger, Lucas Thayer, 32, of Harvard, were charged with possession of a class D substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the drug laws. Pomerantz was also charged with speeding.

State Police stopped Pomerantz after seeing her speeding in a 2005 Subaru Legacy. The State Trooper saw 115 marijuana plants in the car. A search also turned up an additional three pounds of marijuana and "paraphernalia related to the packaging and sale of drugs."
