UPDATE: Weekend Accident on 125 Was Fatal

An accident Saturday evening resulted in a Methuen man being killed.

At just after 6:30 p.m. Saturday, police received a report of a vehicle accident with "heavy entrapment" on Route 125 near the State Police Andover Barracks. The vehicle, an SUV, had struck a tree.

Medflight was requested, but an ambulance rushed the victim to Lawrence General Hospital. The man died shortly after.

The victim has not been been identified, but state police said he was 46 and from Methuen.

The accident is still under investigation, state police said.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Peter Silverio, 46, of Methuen. State police said his Chevy Astrovan was traveling southbound on Route 125 when it veered off the road and struck a tree.
