Violent Crime Crime Rose 21% In Andover Between 2015 And 2016, According To FBI Data

On a more upbeat note, property crimes in Andover decreased nearly 26% during the same time period.

ANDOVER, MA -- There were 23 violent crimes in Andover last year, up from 19 in 2015, according to uniform crime reporting data released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation last month. The data also show a 25.77% decrease in property crime during the same time period.

The FBI has been collecting Uniform Crime Reporting data from law enforcement agencies across the United States since 1930. The data is used to gain offer a comparison from year to year and community to community in a wide range of violent and property crimes.
