You Can Cook!
When it comes to cooking, everyone should have a few ticks up their sleeves on easy and delicious meals that are healthy for all! If you are looking for such a meal and need a little help with the process, look no further than Andover DCS’ new “You Can Cook Workshop Series!” This fun and informative series features three one-day sessions of cooking classes that can add something new to the mix for your family & friends. You can sign up for one, or register for all three, which are taught by DCS instructor Chris Williams.
The first of the workshop classes is a Roasted Pork Dinner! This program will run on Wednesday, October 15. During this class, participants will make pork roast, rice pilaf, fresh vegetables, and finish it off with a homemade chocolate mousse! In addition, you will learn a few new tricks for storing and managing recipes with ease.

The second workshop, on Thursday November 6th, will feature a fabulous fall meal, a Beef Stew Dinner with butternut squash and barley, a fresh salad, and a side of creamy polenta. For dessert the group will make apple crisp. Carrots and potatoes can be substituted for the butternut squash and barley to make the meal appealing to all appetites!
At the end of each of these classes you will enjoy the food you have prepared!

In the final session of the season, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 19th, participants will enjoy the decadence of Desserts! Participants will learn to make cheesecake and chocolate torte, as well as two additional dessert sauces; caramel and hot fudge! After sampling your creations in class, you will also get a small cheesecake to take home and enjoy later!
With all the busy schedules and things to do, sometimes it gets difficult to find the time to get cooking a healthy and delicious meal. These classes aim to help you with just that, and all in about the same amount of time it takes to heat something up from the freezer, but without all the unpronounceable ingredients, high costs, and small portions!
All classes are held from 6:00-9:00 PM at the Greater Lawrence Technical School, in Andover. The limit for participants in each class is ten, so make sure you register early to secure your place!
