Retired Ashland MA police dog Ajax dies (metrowestdailynews.com) — Ashland residents are mourning Ajax, the town's retired police K-9, who died over the weekend from a tumor after several years of service alongside Lt. Chris Alberini. The 8-year-old German shepherd worked cases in Ashland and nearby communities until 2023 and then lived in retirement with his handler. Police say their remaining K-9, Jack, continues to serve the town.
   

• Dashcam shows falling tree, sparks fly during nor'easter in Ashland, Mass. (wcvb.com) — A delivery driver's dashcam in Ashland captured a dramatic moment when a falling tree hit a transformer on West Union Street during Sunday night's nor'easter, lighting up the sky and sending sparks flying. The driver stopped just in time, called 911, and Eversource crews responded, highlighting how quickly conditions can turn dangerous even when the rain doesn't seem severe.
