2 Killed In Attleboro Crash On I-95

The crash closed I-95 South for three hours Thursday morning.

ATTLEBORO, MA – Two people are dead following an early morning crash on I-95 in Attleboro, state police said. The crash happened around 1:25 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway near Exit 3.

Police said a 2018 Kia Soul crashed into the back of a 2007 Hyundai GST, trapping the backseat passengers. One of the passengers, a 23-year-old woman from Los Angeles, was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Another passenger, a 28-year-old Providence man, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he later died.

Three other people inside the Hyundai were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Investigators believe the Kia was speeding in the right lane before the driver lost control and swerved into the middle lane, rear-ending the Hyundai. The crash closed I-95 South for three hours Thursday morning.
