Attleboro High Hoops Players Recognized
The Attleboro girls basketball program holds a banquet in Mansfield.
The Attleboro High girls basketball program closed out the season recently with its annual banquet at the Holiday Inn in Mansfield. Varsity head coach Missy Traversi welcomed players, family and friends.
Varsity Awards went to:
- Rookie of the Year: Emily Houle
- Ultimate Teammate: Abby Oliver
- Best Defender: Bri LaPlume
- Most Improved: Beth Clifton
Bri Hochwarter and Sara Blackwell each received a $250 scholarship from the Attleboro Youth Basketball Association. Hochwarter, who sat out her junior and senior years with knee injuries, received a framed replica of her No. 24 basketball jersey.
Clifton was named a Hockomock League All Star and Kerry Beland received an all-league honorable mention.
Receiving recognition as varsity players were seniors Makaila Lombardy and Kirsten Terrien and sophomore Kimi Runey.
Captains for the 2013-2014 season will be Clifton and LaPlume.
Junior Varsity Coach Emily Wadleigh also handed out awards:
- Best Defensive Player: Olivia Kass
- Best Offensive Player: Cassie Vivar
- Most Improved: Najaie Silva
- Extra Effort: Olivia Letourneau
- MVP: Karissa Hand
J.V. players receiving certificates of participation included Amy Eklind, Melissa Sheehan, Paige Medeiros, Emma Vlashi, Breanna Eddy and Rachel Blackwell.
Freshmen coach Jackie Beland handed out the following awards:
