Attleboro To Host Don Doucette Memorial River Cleanup

The city of Attleboro is looking for help cleaning up a local river.

ATTLEBORO, MA — The annual Doucette Memorial River Cleanup is returning to Attleboro in just a few weeks.

This year, the cleanup will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17.

Anyone interested in volunteering should meet at Judith Robbins Riverfront Park on Riverfront Drive before heading out to collect trash.

The Attleboro Conservation Commission, Mayor Cathleen DeSimone, Friends of the Ten Mile River and Dunkin’ are hosting the event.

While cleaning up the river is the priority, the event also celebrates the Ten Mile River. It honors Don Doucette, an Attleboro resident and longtime watershed activist.

Volunteers are welcome to bring their own supplies, such as trash bags, as the city encourages residents to help clean up local waterways.
