Attleboro Paramedics Gain New Lifesaving Tool
New equipment will help Attleboro medics deliver critical care when every second counts.
ATTLEBORO, MA —When every second counts during a medical emergency, having the right equipment can make all the difference.
The Attleboro Fire Department is adding a new lifesaving tool to its emergency response equipment.
On Thursday, the department announced the implementation of the IntuBlade video laryngoscope, an advanced airway management device designed to help paramedics provide critical care during medical emergencies.

The new technology allows paramedics to get a clearer view of a patient's airway during endotracheal intubation, a procedure used to insert a breathing tube when a patient cannot breathe adequately or maintain an open airway.
According to a social media post from the department, the IntuBlade uses a camera to display the patient's airway on a screen, helping paramedics guide the breathing tube into place.

The IntuBlade app also supports video recording, which can be used as part of the department's quality assurance and quality improvement program.
Representatives from the IntuBlade team visited the Attleboro Fire Department this week to help personnel become familiar with the new equipment.
The department said it remains committed to providing high-quality emergency medical care to Attleboro residents and visitors.
