In only her third year of coaching Attleboro High School Girls Basketball Missy Traversi was selected, for the second time in as many years, as Sun Chronicle Coach of the Year. She shares this honor with King Phillip Coach Martin Crowley.
Traversi grew up in Attleboro and was a 1,000 point scorer at Bishop Feehan and at the University of Maine. She played for two years in Sweden and led the league in scoring. Upon returning to the states she had a tryout with the WNBA Chicago Sky. Her high school coaching began at Brookline High and then on to Dover-Sherborn High, where she was named Tri Valley League Coach of the Year. Traversi spent a year as an assistant to Kathy Delaney Smith at Harvard, before accepting the Attleboro position.
In her second year of rebuilding the Attleboro program the team qualified for post season play and this year finished the season at 17-7, with two post season tournament games.
