Attleboro Police Alert For Car Tire Thieves
Attleboro police said a group of thieves have stripped several vehicles of tires and left them on cement blocks.

ATTLEBORO, MA — Attleboro police recently issued an alert after a rash of car tire thefts in the region. Police said the thieves have been going around stealing tires and rims from vehicles then leaving them propped up on cement blocks or soda crates.

The thefts typically happen during the overnight hours and involve newer-model Honda and Toyota vehicles, police said.

"The use of locking lug nuts for at-risk vehicles is recommended and vehicle owners are advised that they should not leave the locking mechanism for these anti-theft devices in the vehicle itself," Attleboro police said in a statement.
