Attleboro Reduces Outdoor Water Restrictions

ATTLEBORO, MA — Despite heavy rain over the weekend, the City of Attleboro will reduce its water restrictions from Level 3 to Level 2, according to a city Facebook post.

Under the new restrictions, handheld lawn watering is allowed between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. Lawn sprinklers and irrigation systems are not allowed.

Residents are also prohibited from power washing, washing cars and other nonessential outdoor water use.

Even after a wet weekend, southern Massachusetts remains under mild drought conditions. The Wading River Treatment Plant also remains offline because of high manganese levels.

The city also said in the post that water restriction levels could increase if drought conditions worsen.
