Bombardiers Take Tigers by the Tail Attleboro 52-Taunton 31

With Attleboro scoring the first 11 points and preventing Taunton from scoring until 45 seconds of the first quarter Coach Missy Traversi was able to go to her bench early in the game.

Emily Houle opened the scoring and Kim Runey followed.  Free throws by Bri LaPlume and Beth Clifton gave the Bombardiers a 6-0 lead.  Kerri Beland’s 2, a Houle free throw and Sarah Deyo hoop increased the lead to 11-0.  With 6.5 seconds remaining in the quarter LaPlume made 3, the old fashioned way, and time ran out with Attleboro holding a 14-3 advantage.

Back to back hoops by Clifton increased the Bombardier lead to 13.  A 3 ball by Karissa Hand, another Clifton score and 6 consecutive points by LaPlume gave Attleboro a 27-9 lead.  Cassie Vivar finished out the Bombardier scoring with a hoop inside and a 3 by Taunton, as the half ended, had Attleboro in command, 29-12.

At the opening of the third quarter the Bombardiers scored the first 10 points, before the Tigers hit for 3.  Houle, Clifton, LaPlume, Beland and Deyo contributed to the Attleboro run and as the horn sounded the Bombardiers were in the drivers seat, 41-20.

Beland opened the final stanza, hitting on two free throws.  Clifton hit the back end of two free throws, scored on a put back and was successful on a drive to the hoop.  LaPlume hit both of her shots from behind the charity stripe and Runey and Deyo made one of their two free throws, as time ran out.
