Bristol County Saving Bank's Van Buren of North Attleboro Earns CTFA Designation

TAUNTON, MA, September 12, 2016 — Bristol County Savings Bank (BCSB) announces that Margaret Van Buren, Assistant Trust Officer for the Bank’s Financial Advisory Services division located at 150 North Main Street in Attleboro, Massachusetts, recently earned her designation of Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) from the Institute of Certified Bankers, a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association.

The CTFA designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of wealth management and trust. To qualify for the CTFA certification, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education in the trust profession, pass an exam, and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CTFA exam covers many areas including fiduciary and trust activities, financial planning, tax law and planning, investment management and ethics.

Van Buren has been employed at Bristol County Savings Bank for more than nine years. In her position as Assistant Trust Officer she is responsible for the administration and client service of trust, individual, corporate, not-for-profit and retirement accounts, as well as estate settlement. Previously, Van Buren served as an Account Administrator for the Bank’s Financial Advisory Services department. Before her tenure at the Bank, she held the positions of Training Administrator/Registered Representative at Merrill Lynch in Boston, Massachusetts and Certified Sales Specialist for Clarins USA. She is a member of the Bristol County Estate Planning Council Board and earned her MBA from SUNY Albany School of Business and her bachelor’s in business from SUNY Albany. Van Buren resides in North Attleboro, Massachusetts.
