THE CENTER FOR BLADDER & PELVIC HEALTH

RAISES AWARENESS DURING BLADDER HEALTH MONTH

Millions of Americans suffer from bladder dysfunction, which includes disorders such as urinary incontinence, urgency, frequency, and retention. OB/GYN Associates of Attleboro’s Center for Bladder & Pelvic Health reminds our community that bladder dysfunction can happen at any age, and shouldn’t be dismissed as an inevitable part of aging. Treatment can help.

One treatment option is Pelvic Floor Muscle Rehabilitation (PFMR), which re-educates and tones the muscles in the pelvic floor to improve general bladder function. It is often a first-line option because it treats a wide range of issues in a noninvasive, painless way, with a 70-80 percent success rate of significantly improving symptoms. Unlike medications, which offer temporary relief from symptoms, PFMR is restorative. It also does not come with the side effects of medications, which include dry mouth, dry eyes, and chronic constipation.

For more information about bladder dysfunction and treatment options like PFMR, talk to your doctor or call the Center for Bladder & Pelvic Health of OB/GYN Associates of Attleboro, at 508-222-1105. PFMR is covered by most insurance plans.
