The City of Attleboro has had two mayors over the last twenty years. There are a few differences, but many similarities---the biggest being their penchant for overspending.
The political philosophy question is, "Why do Attleboro voters consistently vote for big spenders to be mayor?"
To be sure, there is a minority for which government is their de facto god. But most voters aren't in this category. Thus, the question remains. I confess that I do not know the answer(s) to this pattern. Not knowing the reason(s) doesn't mean that I'm 'out of touch', irrational, or stupid by definition. I simply see the local voter consistency as a phenomenon.

Sometimes, I simply throw out a question for contemplation by others, and perhaps debate if there is sufficient interest. I usually call this gambit, "floating a trial balloon to see if it 'flies'." Maybe it's not a mystery to others.
