Escaped Inmate James Morales Steals Car at Attleboro Burger King: Police

Massachusetts police are hunting for James Morales, who escaped from a Rhode Island prison New Year's Eve.

ATTLEBORO, MA — An inmate who escaped from a Rhode Island prison Saturday night made it on foot to Attleboro, where he discarded his bloody prison clothing then stole a car from a Burger King.

A manhunt is on for James Morales, 35, of Cambridge. The car he stole in Attleboro is a green Chevrolet Lumina with the license plate number 408696. Morales is 6 feet and 175 pounds. He likely has a laceration on his neck from the prison break, police said.

Morales was in custody for on charges he stole weapons from a federal armory in Worcester in 2015.
