See your favorite PBS actors in a new role in our PBS Players Movie Series! In this film, a rule-bound head butler’s (Anthony Hopkins) world of manners and decorum in the household he maintains is tested by the arrival of a housekeeper (Emma Thompson) who falls in love with him in post-World War I Britain. The possibility of romance and his master’s (Christopher Reeve) cultivation of ties with the Nazi cause challenge his carefully maintained veneer of servitude. Rated PG; 134 minutes.
