'Fire' In North Attleboro Simulated For A Movie

What appeared to be a fire in North Attleboro Wednesday night was actually special effects for a movie.

ATTLEBORO, MA—What appeared to be a fire at the old Babies R Us building in North Attleboro Wednesday night was actually special effects for a movie.

A movie that has been left unnamed is being shot at the former children's store on Route 1, according to North Attleboro Fire Department. The fire is part of the special effects and involves no real flames.

"Tonight and into next week a movie is being filmed at the old Babies R Us building next to Target," said the North Attleboro Police Department in a Facebook post Wednesday. "Tonight they are using a smoke machine and electronic light signs to make it look the building is on fire. This is all special effects and there is NO fire."

The North Attleboro Fire Department said they remain in contact with the crew to ensure everyone's safety and will be part of a fire detail for the movie next week.

"We have been in contact with the production crew and they will notify us in the event of an emergency," said the Facebook post. "There will be a fire detail next week as the special effects will involve a fire tube permitted by the Fire Department," the department said in a Facebook post.
