Sleep Apnea is a common sleep disorder characterized by brief interruptions of breathing during sleep. An apnea is clinically defined as a cessation of breath that lasts at least ten seconds. Although the typical sleep apnea patient is overweight, male and over the age of forty, sleep apnea affects both males and females of all ages and weights. More than 18 million Americans suffer from sleep apnea and it is estimated that 10 million remain undiagnosed.
The Fair will be held in the Hospital’s Auditorium from 7 – 9 p.m. For more information or to register, call the Respiratory Care Department at 508/236-7550.
