Massachusetts' Most Wanted: 6 New Suspects
Massachusetts State Police added six new suspects to its "most wanted" list. They face murder, kidnapping and stabbing charges.

ATTLEBORO, MA — Massachusetts State Police this week added six new suspects — charged with crimes ranging from murder to kidnapping to stabbing a dog with a machete — to the agency's "most wanted" list. Two suspects — Steven Touch and Cornel Bell — are wanted for murder in Lynn and Billerica. Touch has been on the run for 5 years. Another suspect, Thomas Vargus, stabbed a dog named "King" with a machete in Taunton last week and Good Samaritans intervened to save the animal, police said.

Steven Touch, 28, is wanted for murder for a fatal 2012 home invasion in Billerica. Touch and two co-defendants were indicted this year but Touch evaded capture. "He is the alleged leader of the violent Young Bloods street gang operating in and around Lynn, and should be considered armed and dangerous," police said. He is 5 feet 7 inches and 220 pounds. His aliases include Steven Chhon Touch, Steven Choum, Kevin Touch, “Fat Boy,” and “C Sick.”

Thomas Vargus, 45, is wanted for stabbing a woman and her dog with a machete in Taunton September 18. "He has a lengthy violent criminal history, including past convictions for assault with a beer bottle, beer can, and mace spray," police said. "In addition to Taunton, he has previous ties to Brockton, Cambridge and Somerville, and should be considered armed and dangerous." Police said bystanders intervened in the Taunton attack and saved the dog and woman.

Cornel Bell, 46, is wanted for murdering his estranged girlfriend Michele Clark in Weymouth August 19, 2017. "BELL fled in a stolen pickup truck, which was recovered several days later by police in Florida," police said. "He was last seen with short hair and a close cropped beard, both of which were salt-and-pepper in color. BELL has used numerous identities and has obtained at least four Massachusetts driver’s licenses using false identities. He has ties to Dorchester, Florida, and Jamaica, and should be considered armed and dangerous." Bell is 5 feet 4 inches and 170 pounds. He speaks in a heavy Jamaican accent. His aliases include Cavin Wayne Lebert, Cornel James, Kerrol Florizel Bailey, Cornel Carara, Bernard Duke Bell, Mark Simmons, Tony Smith and Anthony Smith.

Daniel Christian, 31, is wanted for a shooting in Gardner July 18. He shot at two people but missed them, police said. "He has an extensive violent criminal history," police said. "CHRISTIAN has ties to Gardner, Fitchburg, Leominster, Lynn, and Dorchester. The firearm used in the shooting was not recovered, and CHRISTIAN should be considered armed and dangerous." He is 6 feet 6 inches and 240 pounds. One alias he uses is "D.J.," police said.

Jeffrey Lopez, 27, is wanted for kidnapping two people in Lynn and pistol-whipping them. He was also recently charged in connection with an October 2016 drive-by shooting in Lynn. "He is a suspected member of the Deuce Boys street gang and has a lengthy criminal history," police said. "In addition to Lynn, he has ties to Malden and New York and should be considered armed and dangerous." He is 5 feet 9 inches and 175 pounds. One alias he uses is "Knuckles."
Jovett Resende, 28, is wanted for shooting a woman in Brockton August 2. "The investigation into the shooting resulted in the recovery of a large amount of narcotics, including trafficking weight of the dangerous opioid fentanyl," police said. "The firearm used in the shooting has not been recovered, and RESENDE should be considered armed and dangerous." He is 5 feet 9 inches and 135 pounds.
