National Volunteer Week Essay Contest

In conjunction with National Volunteer Week, April 12 – April 18, 2015, an essay contest is being held.

Rockland Trust is the official sponsor of this year’s contest and the entries will be judged by the Greater Attleboro Women of Today. The essay contest is open to area students in grades 6 through 12.

This year’s topic and theme is “Volunteers, A Work of Heart!” Essays will be judged on originality, clarity of thought and writing skills. Essays need to be typed, doubled-spaced and not more than 500 words. All entries must be submitted to Sturdy’s Volunteer & Student Services Department by March 25, 2015.

Winners will receive cash prizes donated by Rockland Trust. The first-place winners will be asked to read their winning essay during the Annual “Volunteer Day” Ceremonies at the Attleboro Elks on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 11 a.m., sponsored by Sturdy Memorial Hospital. All prizes will be awarded during the “Volunteer Day” luncheon also being held at the Attleboro Elks following ceremonies.
