Obituary: Richard C. Anderson

Mr. Richard Anderson was a United States Air Force veteran and former bus driver.

Richard C. Anderson, 76, of South Attleboro, died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Baypointe Nursing Home in Brockton after a lengthy illness. Born June 17, 1936 in Weymouth, he was the son of the late Carl and Annabelle Elizabeth (Haney) Anderson.

Richard attended Brockton public schools while growing up in Brockton, and lived in South Attleboro for many years.

He was a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines and Bonanza Bus Lines.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1962.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association, enjoyed working on cars and playing cribbage and whist with family and friends.

He was the loving father of: David Anderson and his wife Valerie of Bridgewater, Denise MacHardy and her husband Paul of Deltona, Fla., and Doreen Nicoli and her husband Tony of Wilsonville, Ore; the stepfather of Jack, Melanie, Jerry, Jamie, Brad and Beverly Peterson; the grandfather of Brian and Jenna Anderson of Bridgewater, Michelle MacHardy and Renee Haven of Florida, Annie and Anthony Nicoli of Oregon, and Carol Matthews-Nicoli of New York; the great-grandfather of Caleb Hill of Florida and Kenney and Jacob Haven of Florida. He leaves several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Joyce Alden.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 18, at 11 a.m. at Coweeset Cemetery, Brockton.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton.
