Raynham Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested

Eddy Fonseca, 18, of New Bedford, stabbed a juvenile during a robbery, police said.

RAYNHAM, MA — A New Bedford teenager wanted in the attempted murder of a juvenile in Raynham Sunday has been arrested, police announced Tuesday. Eddy Fonseca, 18, turned himself in on assault with intent to murder and armed robbery charges.

Police said Fonseca robbed a juvenile Sunday at about 1:10 a.m. in the area of 296 Elm Street East.

"(The) victim attempted to intervene, and was stabbed when he confronted the suspect," Raynham police said in a statement. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.

Fonseca was held on $50,000 bail pending an arraignment Wednesday in Taunton District Court.
