Society of St. Vincent de Paul Hosts 4th Annual "Family Walk - Helping Our Neighbors"

Helping Those in Need

The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Greater Attleboro is sponsoring its 4TH Annual "Family Walk - Helping Our Neighbors”. The walk will take place, rain or shine, on Saturday April 18th from 9 am- 12 noon at the National Audubon Society’s Attleboro Springs Wildlife Sanctuary, which is right next to the LaSalette Shrine at 947 Park Street (Route 118) in Attleboro. This fun-filled family event will include guided nature tours, balloons, face painting, refreshments and is pet-friendly.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society’s primary mission is to care for those in the community who cannot care for themselves. All proceeds from the walk go directly to those less fortunate in the neighboring towns of North Attleboro, Attleboro, Mansfield, Norton, Rehoboth and Seekonk. Through the generosity of its supporters, the St. Vincent de Paul Society provides food, utilities and rental assistance to families and individuals who are struggling to keep a roof over their head and food on their table. The free services provided are based upon need and not on any religious affiliation.

What separates the St. Vincent de Paul Society from other charitable organizations is that their volunteers provide person-to-person assistance through home visits. This special attention is a comforting way of showing these individuals that someone truly cares about them. The St. Vincent de Paul Society is a recognized 501(c)(3) organization and 100% of its donations provide direct client assistance. Last year’s Family Walk raised over $16,000.
