STURDY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT

ATTLEBORO, MA, May 7, 2014 – The Sturdy Memorial Foundation, Inc. has granted a $600 Helen and Blanche Stark Memorial Scholarship to Christina Shaer of Foxborough. 

Christina is a 2012 graduate of Foxborough High School and is currently a second year nursing student at St Joseph’s University in Connecticut.

The Stark scholarships are available to high school students or graduates who are residents of Foxborough, Massachusetts and are accepted or enrolled in an accredited nursing program. The scholarship is in memory of Helen and Blanche Stark, former nurses of Sturdy Memorial Hospital, who graciously left part of their estate to honor students who choose a career in nursing.

            The Sturdy Memorial Foundation is the non-profit parent organization of Sturdy Memorial Hospital. The foundation has been designated to administer the aforementioned scholarships.
