STURDY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WELCOMES NEW VICE PRESIDENT, MEDICAL DIRECTOR, AND CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER – DR. CARLOS RUEDA

ATTLEBORO, MA, July 21, 2014 – Carlos Rueda, MD has joined Sturdy Memorial Hospital as its Vice President, Medical Director, and Chief Medical Officer. 

Board-certified in Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Rueda joins the Hospital from the Greater Hudson Valley Healthcare System in Middletown, NY, where he was the Chairman and Medical Director of the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Rueda received his medical degree from the Universidad el Bosque in Columbia and completed his residency and fellowship training at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York City. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

President and CEO of Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Dr. Bruce Auerbach, notes that “Dr. Rueda is an enthusiastic, diplomatic leader who relates well to people and understands the importance of effective communication. I am delighted that he has joined our medical staff and am confident he will be a valuable asset to our organization.”

In his role, Dr. Rueda provides management support to the medical staff; is a member of the senior management team; and is responsible for the supervision of the Medical Staff Office, Hospitalist Program, Risk Management Department, several outpatient specialty services including Cardiac Rehabilitation, Outpatient Oncology, the MS Center, Wound Management Services, and the Sturdy Plus Specialty Clinics; and the Attleboro High School-Based Health Center.
