Time to License working Journalist

I've said this before, the news media should be required to obtain a license to be a Journalist or commentators in print, radio and television.

The public needs to be protected from Fake News and media staged events and hit pieces.

If Doctors, Lawyers, Electricians, Plumbers and many others are required to obtain a license to practice their craft, it would seem their first Amendment rights are still safe guarded.

Then it is high time for members working in print, radio and television media to be required to conform to high ethical standards, just like other professions.

Perhaps if they were required to follow high ethical standards just like other professions, then it would cause them to speak truth or have their licences suspended or revoked. Force them to put their lively Hood on the line.

We need and deserve a responsible media!

They should be required to put forth all sides of a story and not slant in favor of their personal or corporate veiws.

Nothing is stopping them from responsible reporting, but they must be stopped from unethical reporting!

I believe the time is now to put a ballot initiative in all states, starting in Massachusetts, to require them to study ethics, pass a test and get a license!

They will still be able to give an opinion, but, it Should be required of them to have a tag line stating, that comments are their opinion and that their comments may, or may not be truthful, accurate nor comprehensive!

Let's see if the public has an interest requiring those individual members of Radio, print, television and cable reporting would like to create an initiative petitions to be placed on the Massachusetts Ballot?
