Tuesday's Deadline Yields 38 Qualified Candidates for Attleboro Municipal Elections
One preliminary election will be held in September prior to November's elections.

The stage has officially been set for what is shaping up to be a competitive city election in Attleboro.
In all, 38 candidates returned nomination papers and were certified for election by the Tuesday afternoon deadline, including six candidates who submitted papers on the final two days.
On Monday, Jim Burns was officially certified as a candidate for an At-Large school committee position and Pamela McGovern was officially certified for the Ward 1 school committee spot.
On Tuesday, Kathleen Hohlfield was certified to run for the Ward 4 city council seat. Additionally, Julienne Singer and Roberta Wuilleumier were certified to run for an At-Large school committee spot.
John Davis qualified to run for Ward 3 city councilor against Benjamin Dowling and incumbent Frank Cook on Tuesday, making the three-person race the only contest to qualify for a Sept. 17 preliminary election before the municipal election on Nov. 5.
In total, 10 races will be contested this fall. Here is a look at who is officially running:
