VA Medical Care…Kozlowski's Mis-Tweet… and other scuttlebutt!!

Untimely medical care at the VA - something New???  Hardly!  I remember hearing about long wait times and substandard care back in the 60's and 70's. This is not a new phenomenon by any stretch of the imagination.

It maybe time to rid itself of the top leaders of the VA Administration, simply because this has been a continuing problem and they have done nothing substantial to improve it. The VA should be a leading medical institution, not only in the US, but worldwide. There Is No Excuse! None!

Good thing the Boston bombing victims did not have to wait in a VA schedule!

Mr Kozlowski - I don't really think that your Tweet belittles all the citizens of Mansfield….only you perhaps. And perhaps you should not have used your selectman Twitter acct. to post your feelings, but it certainly spread like 'wildfire'!

Chronicle journalist, Gouveia, mentioned his immigrant father who became a very successful American. I am sure that he did boot begin his work life in any store similar to a Home Depot or other 'big box' store. And I think he probably became bi-lingual in short order to be able to converse easily with Portugese as well as
English speaking customers. And to advance as he did in the American business word. Well done Sir.

Perhaps the sing mentioned b Mr. K should have included the words - must be bi-lingual Spanish-English. I am irritated by those who are not clearly bi-lingual when phoning a big box store for assistance and cannot understand the 'customer service' person on the other end. As A former career purchasing manager, I was confronted with this far too often when calling a potential supplier for for information so as to make a purchasing decision.

Cudoos to those immigrants who have learned to speak English, beyond just getting by. You do not 'loose your culture' by earning to speak English as some have mentioned as an excuse not to learn to read and write in English. That is your right…but remember…This is The United States of America, our predominant language English, and always will be. Learn the language of your adopted country. It will be to your advantage. If  were to move to France or Argentina or Wales(that would be a challenge)…I would be embarrassed to not learn their language.
Maybe Mr. K has done a good thing in bringing this issue to the fore front.
Enough Said!!
