4th Annual Tom Olen Memorial Golf Outing to Be Held on June 16th, 2016

NORWOOD, MA- O’LYN Roofing will be holding the 4th Annual Tom Olen Memorial Golf Outing on June 16th, 2016 at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton.

The event was started in 2013 to honor the memory of Tom Olen, long-time employee and friend of O'LYN who passed away from cancer in 2010. The Tom Olen Memorial Fund supports cancer research organizations and financially assists families struggling with cancer or persons in need of organ transplants. All proceeds from the Golf Outing will go towards these efforts, as well as a $5,000 scholarship to a local student affected by cancer.

“We’re looking forward to another great event this year,” said Michael Olen, founder of the Tom Olen Memorial Fund and brother of Tom Olen. “We hope that our neighbors and friends will sign up to play and contribute to fight this disease that affects so many of our loved ones.”

The Tom Olen Memorial Golf Outing draws around 100 golfers every year. It includes a full day of golf, a BBQ, and a raffle, though many people just join for the dinner and raffle. A highlight each year is the “Hole-in-One” competition to win a brand new car as the grand prize.

There are many opportunities to participate this year. Players can sign up individually or in foursomes, and guests can sign up for the dinner on the same page. There are also a variety of sponsorship packages available to companies in the form of signage and printed advertisements in their event program.

“This Golf Outing is close to our hearts and something we are very passionate about”, said Linda Olen, President of O’LYN Roofing and sister-in-law to Tom Olen. “We take pride in making an impact on the futures of our young community members.”
