Seven-piece Nashville born band, KOA Live at The Red Room at Cafe 939 / 8PM / All Ages / $10 adv / $12 dos

Born in Nashville, Tennessee, seven-piece band Koa mashes soul, rock 'n' roll, and funk into an eclectic sound. Founded by childhood friends and songwriting duo Chase Bader and Conor Kelly, the group's history dates back to the early 2000s, when frontman Bader and lead guitarist Kelly went to grade school together. The band has greatly evolved since playing their first show in a Nashville yogurt shop, growing as each member has taken his place in the band, deepening the music's rhythmic focus. Together, the band stirred all of their influences into the same pot, mixing up something new.
With a sound that continues to evolve and a full-length album on the horizon, you are mostly likely to find Koa in the same place that gave the band its start: the road. The guys have become road warriors, playing shows across the United States while working their way toward something bigger, better, and bolder. For Koa, the only direction is forward.
Admission: $10 in advance / $12 general admission (standing room only)
