9/8/16 Pathogenic / Merithius / Myth of I
Live at The Red Room at Cafe 939 / 8PM / All Ages / Free Admission

Pathogenic's vicious brand of technical metal explores the musical spectrum in their newest material, leading the listener along razor-sharp riffing and soaring melodies. The group began in Lowell, Massachusetts, in 2008. Over many sleepless weeks, the band recorded, mixed, and mastered their first album entirely by themselves, releasing Cyclopean Imagery in 2011. The next year proved to be successful for the band, with performances at the New England Hardcore and Metal Festival, the Rock and Shock Festival, and the Summer Slaughter Tour at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts. In 2013, the band completed a two-and-a-half week long tour of the East Coast of the U.S. and Canada, and also performed on the local Summer Slaughter Tour dates in both 2013 and 2014. After writing for most of 2015, they are confident in their new material and are eager to get moving.
Merithius is a progressive metal band, based in Boston, with a massive, in-depth fantasy concept centered on the world of Merithius, the mortals of Merithius, and the Gods of Ascenthius. The group began playing shows with a solid lineup in August 2015 with Alex Heart (trombone, vocals, and guitar), Anthony Besini (guitar and vocals), Alyssa DiMaio (keys), Jared Tuitel (guitar and vocals), Vishnu Reddy (drums), and Joe Stanley (bass). In such a short time, the group has had the honor of opening for long-time musical powerhouses like Fear Factory, Soilwork, and Apocalyptica.
Myth of I is a four-piece progressive metal band based out of Boston. They have been working on music and playing shows in the local scene since early 2014 and since then, rigorously writing, recording, and tracking. The band is currently working on their first official full-length album, a follow up to their 2015 EP, S.T.E.M. Myth of I has played all around Boston, opening for acts such as Native Construct, Drewsif Stalin’s Musical Endeavors, and The Fine Constant, just to name a few. Myth of I hopes to bring a breath of fresh air into the music scene and expand it beyond its current boundaries with riveting melodies, epic choruses, and unique rhythmic progressions.
