• In Back Bay, titans battle over new business district (bostonglobe.com) — Back Bay property owners are clashing over a proposed Business Improvement District that would add fees to commercial tax bills to fund cleaning, decorations, and outreach, with Boston's largest landlord BXP pushing to exclude its buildings. Supporters, including the Back Bay Association and local councilor Sharon Durkan, say the BID is needed as voluntary dues shrink and neighborhood needs grow, especially around Copley Square.
