Local support for Big Brother Big Sister Foundation

The South Boston Fire Department and State Representative Nick Collins have teamed up with Big Brother Big Sister Foundation to sponsor the collection of clothing and small household items to be donated at drop off locations in South Boston. The Big Brother Big Sister Foundation collects donations of lightly used clothing, (of all types men’s, women’s, and children’s) shoes, sneakers, accessories, handbags, and jeans. They turn your donations into much needed funds for local mentoring programs. There are over 100 children from South Boston who have already been matched with a mentor. Still the need is great and fundraising projects like the clothing collection program are crucial in helping Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies match more children with professional adult mentors. You can find Donation Bins located at Amrhein’s Restaurant at 80 West Broadway and also at Tedeschi’s at 566 Dorchester Ave. across from Andrew Station. For more information about the Foundation visit their website at www.bbbsfoundation.org or call 1.800.483.5503.
