Anna Nalick / Ryanhood LIVE at the Red Room

Anna Nalick plays the Red Room January 21st, 2016.

Anna Nalick broke onto the music scene in April of 2006 with the release of her debut platinum album with Sony, Wreck of the Day. The album entered the Billboard 200 chart at no. 20, and her single, “Breathe (2 a.m.),” has sold nearly 3 million copies to date. It was also featured prominently on Grey’s Anatomy, among other TV and film soundtracks.

A southern California native, Nalick began writing music as a hobby at a very young age and continued to write for local rock, punk, and ska bands through her teens. In high school she performed as lead singer in her own rock and goth rock bands as well as in a Rush cover band. She began performing and showcasing her writing as a solo artist when she was 18. In her first year of college, Nalick’s lo-fi, home-recorded demo wound up in the hands of Christopher Thorn and Brad Smith (founders of Blind Melon) and Eric Rosse (producer of Tori Amos and Sara Bareilles). The producers were impressed by Nalick’s writing and helped her record a professional demo.

Nalick was signed by Sony in 2004. In 2008, she released The Shine EP and the following year left Sony. In 2011 she released the independent album Broken Doll & Odds & Ends. As of 2015, she’s recording her third album.

Ryanhood is Cameron Hood’s rich and folky lead vocals mixed with Ryan Green’s explosive guitar and mandolin riffs. The Arizona Daily Star has called them “a match made in radio heaven,” and they were named the best group/duo at the 2014 International Acoustic Music Awards. They got their first break over ten years ago, performing at Boston’s Quincy Market; from there, they toured the college scene and then continued on to play over 800 shows in 42 states. They’ve shared the stage with acts such as Jason Mraz, Matt Nathanson, Train, and American Authors.

VIP tickets are available for this event, which include a VIP Meet and Greet, offering fans a chance to meet Nalick before the show.
