When the New England Patriots host the Buffalo Bills this Sunday, one special Back Bay resident will be honored for his devotion to the Patriots.

David Kim, a 48 year old, was picked from nearly 200 nominees to be this year's New England Patriots Fan of the Year. Prior to kickoff Sunday, he will be given the Joseph R. Mastrangelo Memorial Trophy, an award established in 1987 by the Mastrangelo family in honor of their father.

After spending 13 years driving to many Patriots home games while living in Philadelphia, Kim and his family moved to the Back Bay three years ago.

During the offseason, Kim, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, travels to third world countries to operate on children born with deformities. As his wife stated during the nomination process, which factors in community service, “my husband embodies the Patriots philosophy of doing and being your best.”
