Summertime brings more than just the sun, heat, and Red Sox fans to the Fenway area; it also brings Swingin’ in the Fens to the neighborhood! Held annually in the Fenway neighborhood, this year’s Swingin' in the Fens concert will feature Berklee alumnus and professor Ron Mahdi. As a bassist, recording artist, and clinician, Mahdi has performed with a myriad of incredible artists like Kevin Eubanks '79, Roy Hargrove, Stanley Jordan, and the man Chet Baker himself! Mahdi has also toured Europe, Asia, Central America, and the US, and has recorded for Jay Branford, Consuelo Candelaria, Yoron Israel, Walter Beasley, and more. Presented by Berklee College of Music, the Fenway Civic Association, and the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department, this free outdoor concert will take place in Ramler Park at 120 Peterborough Street on July 16 at 6:30pm. In case of rain, don’t fret! You can still make the concert on July 23. See you there for a brilliant combination of sun and jazz in the Fenway!
