Have you heard? Berklee’s premiere coed a cappella group, Pitch Slapped, just won first place in this year’s International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) in NYC this past weekend! The series of contests at the ICCA has grown from 18 competitions to 60 nationwide, so it’s quite competitive!
Founded in 2006, Pitch Slapped performs a variety of styles, ranging from pop and rock to R&B. The group was also featured on Season 2 of NBC’s The Sing Off and recorded two of the show’s album: The Best of Season 2 and Harmonies for the Holidays. This talented student-run group recently released their debut EP on iTunes.

Before becoming champions in this year’s ICCA, Pitch Slapped earned the title of ICCA Quarterfinal Champion and 1st Runner Up in 2008 and 2010. When asked about his experience in this year’s competition, Tracy Robertson, the musical director and vocal percussionist, said, “Through the past few months, we have pushed each other to work harder than we thought we could, and it is such a gratifying testament to our efforts for Pitch Slapped to be honored as this year’s ICCA Champions.”
