Berklee’s The CharlieChords Sing the National Anthem at Celtics Home Opener

What a week it’s been in Boston sports with the Red Sox win of the World Series against the Cardinals. Tonight, the Boston Celtics will host their first home game of the season against the Milwaukee Bucks. Guess who’s singing the national anthem tonight? None other than The Charlie Chords, a men’s a cappella group from Berklee!

Last month, there were open call national anthem auditions for the Celtics. The CharlieChords won and were assigned to sing at the home opener.

“We are thrilled and honored to sing at the Boston Celtics home opener. It's been a special year for us and our guys are all really excited,” said Jim Ryan, the president of the Berklee’s a cappella group. “There's an incredible energy in the city right now and we can't wait to perform for all the passionate Boston fans!”

The CharlieChords were founded at Berklee in September 2012. Since then, they have performed at various venues in Boston including Boston University, Northeastern University, and Simmons College. Earlier this year, they participated in the 2013 International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, where one of their members won the Outstanding Vocal Percussion Award. Here's a video of The CharlieChords performing "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas."

Watch out for these talented men tonight from the stands!
