Book Talk with Richard Oedel

Book Talk with local furniture craftsman located at the Society of Arts and Crafts on Tuesday, September 22.

The Society of Arts and Crafts is excited to host local furniture maker Richard Oedel of Fort Point Cabinetmakers Cooperative to speak about Mind and Hand: Contemporary Studio Furniture, published by the Furniture Society. As the author of the introduction “Shaping the Future,” Richard will share his perspective as a leader in the field.

Richard Oedel works in the Innovation and Design Building in South Boston. He specializes in the design and building of high-end furniture, cabinetry, and custom made work. Oedel has a background in engineering and business, and is a graduate of the North Bennett Street School. As a member of the Society of American Period Furniture Makers, the Furniture Society, and the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association he has exhibited widely and continues to write and teach about furniture making.

Mind and Hand: Contemporary Studio Furniture will be available for purchase prior to and following the book talk ($29.99 with a 10% discount for Members).
