[Boston] Parkour 101 - Introduction to Parkour
Parkour is a training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training.
What if I’ve never done anything like Parkour before?
This class, Parkour 101, is a introductory level class. We will be focusing more on learning how to move our body, understand our limits and get a solid understanding of how to train safe rather than jumping straight into super-high level flips and jumps.
What if I’m a gymnast/marine/stuntman/etc? I don’t want to be bored.

Our program prides itself on scaling classes to each and every student. With something like Parkour there are many levels and progressions to each movement. It’s very common to in the same class have one student working on perfecting their roll, and on the other side of the room have another student practicing very high-level acrobatics. They both come from the same foundation, but are scaled to each practitioners skill level.
What do I need to bring/prepare?

The great thing about Parkour is its accessibility. You really only need a good pair of shoes. We recommend a shoe that is made for urban running (no aggressive treads, a smoother sole lightweight). Think hiking boots, crocs, skate shoes are all no-nos.
Other than that, dress appropriately for activity. Shorts, sweats, t-shirts are all good here. Jeans are normally not the best choice.
We highly recommend bringing water, snacks and a form of transportation (bike, longboard, potentially train fare)
We will be charging a $5 per class fee to start here, and for the 1 hour 15 minute class we think this isn’t too ridiculous. We accept cash or card day of.
Anything else?
These jams will be run outdoors, and with existing architecture. While we won’t be getting into anything crazy, injuries are to be expected. Scrapes happen. We will have first aid available, but make sure you are thinking clearly and in your limits before training!
I am available to answer all questions, but I hope to see a whole bunch of you out in a few weeks!!
