Brian Marquis / Ryan Pinette 9/29
Tuesday / September 29, 2015 / 8:00 p.m. Red Room at Cafe 939 939 Boylston Street, Boston, Massachusetts, 02115,

Brian Marquis, former guitarist of the beloved, Boston-based, post-hardcore outfit Therefore I Am, has just released his debut solo album, Blood & Spirits, via Equal Vision and recorded in Los Angeles with producer Doug Grean (Tim McGraw, Sheryl Crow, Stone Temple Pilots). This follows his run on the first-ever Acoustic Basement UK Tour, also featuring Geoff Rickly (Thursday), KOJI, and Rob Lynch.
Following the disbanding of Therefore I Am, Marquis set out on his own musical path as a solo artist, leaving the in-your-face rock that had been a part of his life for so long to present a more soulful side. His deep, earthy vocals shine on Blood & Spirits, offering introspective, poetic lyricism, catchy melodies, and a dynamic collection of songs that range from bright, memorable sing-alongs filled with Boston pride to dark, emotional tales crooned with Americana twang and a full heart.
With influences ranging from rock to country and bluegrass to Americana music, Boston-based singer-songwriter Ryan Pinette has created his own sound to tell his cathartic narratives. Although he only began playing out in 2010, for the past five years Pinette has traveled the East Coast and Midwest to share his music and amass the experiences that fill his songwriting. He will head to the studio later in 2015 to record his first EP.
