Candy Store to Give Back Donation to First Responders

The first 320 police, firefighters and EMTS to arrive at Sugar Heaven Thursday and Friday can expect a $25 gift certificate, according to The Boston Herald.

With an anonymous donation meant to help reopen after the Boston Marathon Bombings, The Boston Herald reports that Sugar Heaven store owner will instead give first responders $25 gift certificates.

“It was money that was meant to help people," Sugar Heaven owner David Sapers said to The Boston Herald. "Now, it’s my turn to help out. We’re celebrating their bravery.”

The first 320 police, firefighters and EMTs to visit the store on Boylston Street Thursday, June 27 or Friday, June 28 will receive certificates. The $8,000 anonymous donation was supposed to help cover the estimated $40,000 to $50,000 loss caused by the bombings.
