Chameleon Arts Ensemble presents "songs of earth and sky" on May 21 & 22, 2016
Chamber music of Bloch, Saint-Saens, David Ludwig, Elena Firsova, and Messiaen

Chameleon Art Ensemble’s 2015-2016 season finale lives at the intersection of the worldly and the spiritual. Olivier Messiaen’s monumental song cycle, Chant de terre et de ciel, is imbued with parallel devotions to family and his omnipresent faith. Ernest Bloch alternates between ecstasy and melancholy in his Baal Shem, Three Pictures of Chassidic Life for violin & piano. David Ludwig’s Haiku Catharsis explores quiet revelations of the passing seasons and Elena Firsova interprets the Japanese concept of beauty with her spellbinding Meditation in a Japanese Garden for flute, viola, and piano. Finally, Camille Saint-Saëns’ luminous e minor Piano Trio, Op. 92 takes to the air, with elegance and élan.
